The posts are available on a fixed term basis until 31/12/2025.ENIGMA seeks to exceed the frontiers of ultrafast laser material processing, harnessing few-cycle laser pulses (FCLPs) to engineer materials with revolutionary optical and electronic properties. This project will explore the fundamentals and applications of intense interaction between ultra-short light pulses and matter, synthesizing unique material phases for advanced photonic devices and advance long-term high-density data storage, high-resolution microscopy, consumer electronics, and high-power laser applications.We are looking for hands-on experimental scientists with the drive to solve difficult and challenging scientific and technological problems. If you are motivated by working in a high calibre, highly dynamic research environment, then these positions provide an exciting environment.We are looking for researchers with experience in one of the following fields:ultrafast laser material processing (desirable),femtosecond laser direct writing (essential)fundamentals of light-mater interactions (essential)nonlinear optics (essential)ultrafast optics including few-cycle pulses (essential)micro- and nano-optics (desirable)optical engineering (desirable)Candidates will have a PhD* or equivalent professional qualifications and experience in Physics and Optical Engineering, along with a good track record of innovative research at an international level.
