Job description
Background of the recruitment and description of the project
Research Overview
We are recruiting a new postdoctoral researcher to join the Hattori Laboratory at the Wertheim UF Scripps Institute, University of Florida. The Hattori Lab aims to elucidate the neural mechanisms underlying cognitive functiosn and learning using mouse models. Current projects focus on numerical information processing in the brain, as well as the mechanisms of reinforcement learning and decision-making. The successful candidate will, in consultation with the PI (Dr. Hattori), either work on one of these ongoing themes or pursue a new research direction related to higher brain functions. The Hattori Laboratory
The Hattori Lab develops novel mouse behavioral tasks using Unity-based virtual reality (VR). The lab is equipped with 16 VR behavioral experiment setups. We also have state-of-the-art equipment for in vivo imaging and neural activity manipulation, including a two-photon mesoscope. We also perform mathematical modeling of animal behavior and large-scale neural population activity, as well as network simulations using AI. Beyond fundamental neural mechanisms, the lab also investigates abnormalities in cognitive functions and learning associated with autism.Work content and job description
The selected postdoctoral associate will conduct research related to the projects above.
