Senior Lecturer with Vanderbilt University (Nashville, TN)
The Senior Lecturer in Economics is a non-tenure-track position. Employees in this position primarily teach classes to undergraduate students. The usual teaching load is 3 classes each semester. They must prepare these courses ahead of time, attend classes, meet with students, and set and grade exams and other written materials. While it is not a requirement of employment, Senior Lecturers also often publish articles in their field, and to this end, they conduct research in their areas of interest, work with other Vanderbilt faculty and with co-authors at other institutions, and write and submit their articles for publication. Finally, professors participate in the work of the department by supervising undergraduate research projects, serving as freshman and major advisors, and taking on additional projects as needed and desired.
Requirements: Requires a Ph.D. in Economics or related field.
Vanderbilt University has a strong institutional commitment to recruiting and retaining an academically and culturally diverse community of faculty. Minorities, women, individuals with disabilities, and members of other underrepresented groups, in particular, are encouraged to apply. Vanderbilt is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
