Faculty of Engineering The new Faculty of Engineering will bring together four existing departments from the Faculty of Science and Technology, including the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, the Department of Electromechanical Engineering, and the Department of Ocean Science and Technology, while also establishing new departments, including the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, the Department of Energy Science and Engineering, the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering, and the Department of Biomedical Engineering. With an expected enrolment of about 4,000 students, the faculty will help meet the growing demand for engineering talent and technological innovation in Macao and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
Dean of Faculty of Engineering The successful candidate should have considerable experience in faculty management, academic strategic planning, curriculum design, laboratory setup and research development, and must be highly committed to the pursuit of excellence in teaching, research and service.
In particular, the candidate should have the following credentials: 1. An earned doctoral degree in Engineering or related disciplines; 2. A distinguished record of internationally-recognized research and scholarship; 3. Evidence of outstanding academic leadership, demonstrated commitment to leading research and a record of effective teaching in higher education settings; 4. Ability to foster interdisciplinary collaboration, drive technological innovation, and establish relationship with diverse stakeholders; 5. Excellent management, interpersonal and communication skills; 6. Proficiency in English is required as it is the working language, while knowledge in Chinese/Portuguese will be an advantage.
Remuneration Remuneration will be commensurate with the successful applicant’s academic qualification and relevant professional experience. The current local maximum income tax rate is 12% but is effectively around 5% - 7% after various discretionary exemptions.
