Description
The Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University invites applicants for an open rank tenure-track faculty position in Business Technology to begin in Fall 2027. Candidates must have interest and capacity to conduct high quality research and potential to publish in top-tier business journals. We welcome theoretical, methodological, and empirical research on AI/ML, with particular interest in LLM methods and their applications to business problems.
Qualifications
Applicants are expected to have a doctoral degree at the time of appointment in Information Systems, Economics, Marketing, Operations Research, Computer Science/Machine Learning, or related fields. Applicants who have already completed their PhD and have a strong record in both business research and teaching are also encouraged to apply and will be considered for the position. Candidates must also have potential to teach at a high level of competency, as documented by teaching evaluations or letters of recommendation.

Applicants should submit an application letter, vita, up to three published or unpublished research papers, and three recommendation letters via Interfolio.
Review of applications will begin September 10, 2026. A faculty committee will interview shortlisted candidates via Zoom interview. For full consideration, applications should be submitted by September 20, 2026. Applications may continue to be considered until the position is filled, subject to school policy.
