Research and development in optoelectronics and nanophotonics are advancing rapidly worldwide, reflecting their growing importance as enabling technologies for artificial intelligence, quantum technologies, advanced semiconductors, and biomedical applications. Our Department is committed to further strengthening its research capabilities in these fields. Work content and job description

Work in: Conduct research on novel technologies based on optoelectronics and nanophotonics, promote international research activities, and supervise students.

Subjects to be taught: Undergraduate and graduate courses related to electrical and electronic engineering and applied physics.

KIT has adopted a system that allows Principal Investigators (PIs) to charge a portion of their personnel expenses to the direct costs of competitive research funding, in accordance with their research effort. Under this system, PIs (Principal Investigators and Co-Investigators) may, upon request, charge their personnel expenses to the direct costs of competitive research funds in proportion to the effort devoted to research activities. The funds thereby made available may be used at the PI's discretion, including as a salary supplement. The total amount that may be paid in a single fiscal year, however, is limited to 60% of the PI's annual salary. Work experience

Applicants should possess outstanding expertise and an excellent research record in optoelectronics and nanophotonics. They should also demonstrate a strong commitment to interdisciplinary research with related fields, including quantum information and sensing technologies, spintronics, and materials science, and have the motivation and vision to advance research from fundamental science through applied technology development.

Applicants are capable of teaching the courses listed above in both Japanese and English.
