| Job Description | The Department of Human Studies in the School of Education and Human Sciences at the University of Alabama at Birmingham invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor position to begin August 2027. The candidate will teach courses in the Master of Science in Higher Education Administration and Higher Education Intercollegiate Athletic Administration [with general and eSports tracks] programs, pursue extramural funding to support program and research initiatives, mentor students, and participate in program, departmental and university service as well as service and leadership opportunities external to the university. |
| Required Qualifications | Appointment requires a completed doctorate by date of hire with a specialization in Higher Education Administration, Higher Education Policy Studies, Student Affairs and Services, College Student Personnel, Higher Education Leadership, Higher Education Intercollegiate Athletic Administration, and/or related field that meets the requirements set by SACSCOC for faculty credentialing within the Higher Education field of study. |
| Preferred Qualifications | - Familiarity and engagement with national and/or international higher education associations. - Evidence of teaching effectiveness at the university level. - A commitment to the support of students at varying levels of academic development. - Evidence of experience working with underrepresented populations in one or more educational settings. - Clearly identified research agenda with a record of scholarly research productivity. |
