Culture & Inclusion Coordinator
About the Role
This role leads the Union's work to protect student welfare within student-led groups and to widen inclusion in student activity. It sets and upholds standards of conduct across more than 60 student-led clubs, manages how concerns are raised and resolved, and works to remove barriers to participation for students who are inactive or underrepresented.
The post holder will design and deliver training for club committees, covering consent, Active Bystander, and alcohol and drug awareness. Also manage the welfare and incident reporting process, supporting fair and consistent responses. Gather and report data in line with BUCS expectations, working closely with safeguarding, wellbeing and university colleagues. Develop activity and partnerships that widen participation among students from under-represented groups.
About You
You will need significant experience in student welfare, safeguarding, equality and inclusion, or a related field, ideally within sport. Experience of delivering training and handling sensitive cases with sound judgement is essential, alongside strong organisational and relationship management skills and a genuine commitment to student welfare. Experience of working in higher education or a student-led environment is desirable.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced professional to lead culture, welfare and inclusion across QMSU Sport. This is a new post, created in response to growing national focus on student sport culture, including the BUCS Club Culture Summit and the new BUCS Club Culture Framework. You will work across our sports clubs to build safe, positive and inclusive environments where every student feels welcome to take part.
