We are delighted to be seeking to recruit two part-time Teaching Associates to join the Department of Cultural, Media and Visual Studies, in the School of Cultures, Languages and Area Studies at the University of Nottingham.
The Department brings together teaching and research across cultural and creative industries, international media and communication, film and screen studies, and cultural industries and entrepreneurship. The successful candidate will join a collaborative teaching team contributing to established undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
The primary purpose of the role is to contribute to high-quality teaching and student support. The post-holder will teach and advise students in a range of settings, including seminars, tutorials and lectures; contribute to the development and delivery of course materials and assessment; and supervise undergraduate dissertation projects where required. The role also includes pastoral support and administrative duties that contribute to the effective operation of the Department.
We are particularly interested in colleagues who can combine strong subject knowledge with engaging, inclusive and reflective teaching. The Department values innovative pedagogic practice, including digital, project- or problem-based approaches, and welcomes experience of or a willingness to engage with inclusive and decolonising curricula and pedagogies.
Applicants should hold a PhD or equivalent in a relevant subject area, or equivalent professional qualifications and experience. You should have experience of teaching relevant subjects at Higher Education level, the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly, and the ability to plan, deliver and assess teaching within an agreed quality framework. A Higher Education teaching qualification, or progress towards one, is desirable.
