The assignment combines data analysis with monitoring and evaluation support and will contribute to the production of credible evidence on UNHCR results and on the situation of the people with and for whom UNHCR works. • Assist in analysing quantitative and qualitative information to identify trends, gaps and emerging issues, and help present findings in clear, accessible formats for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Support Results Managers and relevant colleagues with indicator tracking, results monitoring and the systematic documentation of data sources, calculation methods and evidence.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of data-collection and monitoring activities, including assessments, implementation monitoring, results monitoring and feedback exercises, as required.
  • Assist in reviewing data-collection tools and forms for clarity, consistency and alignment with identified information needs, applicable standards and data-protection requirements.

  • Assist in maintaining an organized evidence base for monitoring, assessments and evaluations, including filing relevant source documents, outputs and follow-up actions.
  • Participate in team meetings, learning sessions and relevant coordination processes, and pre-pare concise notes or action trackers when requested.
  • Support the preparation of guidance, learning materials or practical sessions on data management, data quality, analysis and monitoring for UNHCR colleagues and partners.
  • Handle all individual-level, sensitive and confidential information in strict accordance with UN-HCR data-protection and information-security requirements, and promptly raise any data-quality, protection or ethical concern with the supervisor.

Living conditions and remarks

New Delhi is the capital city of India. The city is culturally diverse, economically vibrant and a well-developed urban environment. It is a category B family duty station. There are many excellent international schools in the city. Private healthcare is very good, and the city is a destination for UNHCR staff that require emergency medical evacuation. App-based delivery and services are also abundant for daily needs. It has a large expat population. A seasonal environmental concern is severe air pollution caused by vehicle exhaust and slash-and-burn agricultural activities in the neighboring states of Delhi. The severity of some months has resulted in schools being closed and WHO putting out a health warning for individuals who have respiratory and related health challenges. Air pollution is a health concern particularly for those suffering from allergies or respiratory illnesses. The prolonged exposure to air pollutants can be detrimental to one’s health and can contribute to breathing problems, development of chronic diseases, deterioration of health status in individuals with chronic diseases. Usage of N-95 is encouraged when outdoors during air pollution season. The UNHCR office building is equipped with an air purification system to mitigate the air pollution inside the building. Dengue fever is also a risk during or following the monsoon season. As this is a national UN Volunteer assignment, the UN Volunteer will be responsible for arranging his/her own housing and other living essentials. This position is based in New Delhi.
