About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Programme Manager to join the Centre for Bone and Joint Health, working in collaboration with the Pragmatic Clinical Trials Unit at Queen Mary University of London.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a leading role in the delivery of an NIHR-funded clinical trial. You will take strategic and operational responsibility for trial management, ensuring the study is delivered to the highest standards of quality, regulatory compliance and scientific integrity.
You will oversee all aspects of trial delivery, from study set-up to reporting. This includes supervising trial coordinators, managing trial documentation and processes, liaising with key stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and regulatory requirements.
You will contribute to the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs), support resource planning and help foster collaboration across trial units. You will also represent the Trial Management function at key operational and management meetings.
The role offers a dynamic working environment with opportunities to engage with clinical partners, contribute to study design and influence the delivery of impactful research.
About You
You will hold a degree (or equivalent experience) in a relevant discipline and have substantial experience managing clinical trials, ideally including multi-centre studies.
You will bring a strong understanding of clinical trial governance, including regulatory approvals, ethics submissions and updated ICH-GCP requirements. Experience developing trial protocols, SOPs and training research staff is essential.
You should have excellent organisational and leadership skills, with experience of supervising or line managing staff. You will be confident working independently, managing competing priorities and solving problems in complex research environments.
Strong communication skills are essential, as you will liaise with investigators, clinical teams, trial sites and regulatory bodies.
