About this role
We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Low-Emission Propulsion to help develop and contribute to teaching, research, and knowledge exchange within the School of Engineering.
This role presents a fantastic opportunity to shape our multidisciplinary engineering education. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, delivering, and leading cutting-edge modules on our engineering programmes, providing mentorship to other staff, students, and contributing to research initiatives and external collaborations. Ideal candidate will be someone with an academic background and expertise in modern powertrains, traditional IC Engines, Manufacturing, Formula Student, etc.
Individuals with a research-oriented mind-set will have the opportunity to explore their passion in engineering, contributing to scholarly activities. If you have a portfolio of research related to Mechanical/Automotive/Aerospace, or clear plans to develop one, we encourage you to apply.
About You
We require candidates that have a diverse skill set and who can provide evidence of strong expertise and experience in Automotive Systems, Machine Design and Manufacturing or any of these areas. We highly value candidates who have a background and knowledge that can help develop our aspiring student engineers.

The successful applicant will have a Doctoral level qualification in the relevant subject area or near completion. Applications will also be considered from an individual with significant and relevant hands on experience. A teaching qualification and experience of teaching in higher education is advantageous.
Candidates should be able to showcase evidence of their continuous professional growth in relevant subject areas. The appointee will be part of a team supporting delivery of Mechanical, Automotive and Aerospace degree related modules.

This post is 1.0 FTE which is equivalent of 5 days per week and is fixed term ending 31/07/2027.
