Position: Assistant or Associate Professor in Business Analytics and Artificial Intelligence – Alba
Alba Graduate Business School seeks an ambitious scholar with expertise in Business Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, or related areas, and an interest in applying advanced analytical methods to important business and management questions.
Candidates may come from Business Analytics, Information Systems, Decision Sciences, Management Science, Data Science, Operations, Marketing Analytics, or related disciplines. The successful candidate will be expected to develop an internationally visible research program, publish in high-quality peer-reviewed journals, pursue competitive external research funding, and collaborate across disciplines.
Teaching will be across Alba’s MSc, MBA, and Executive Education programs. Depending on expertise and School needs, teaching may include areas such as business analytics, artificial intelligence and machine learning, big data and advanced analytics, business statistics, quantitative methods, and other related subjects. Candidates are not expected to cover all these areas. The ability to connect analytics and AI with managerial decision-making and real-world business problems is particularly valued.
Required Qualifications for Assistant or Associate Professors:
- Candidates should hold a completed PhD in a relevant field and currently hold, or have recently held, an academic appointment at a recognized university or business school or a research-intensive postdoctoral position.
- Candidates for appointment at the Assistant Professor level should demonstrate an emerging record of high-quality research, normally evidenced by peer-reviewed journal publications, together with a strong and developing research pipeline. Evidence of working papers targeted at, under review, or at the revise-and-resubmit stage in leading journals, including AJG 3 or AJG 4 journals, will be particularly valued.
- Candidates considered for appointment at the Associate Professor level should demonstrate a sustained record of publication in leading journals, including journals of distinction such as FT50 and/or AJG 4/4* journals, together with a robust pipeline of high-quality research.
- At either level, candidates should demonstrate a commitment to high-quality teaching and the potential to develop competitive research proposals and attract external funding. Experience or interest in Executive Education and engagement with business and industry is desirable.
- Appointment will be at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, commensurate with the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience. For appointment at the Assistant Professor level, applications from scholars who received their PhD within approximately the last six years are particularly encouraged.
