Job Description

The School of Medicine and the Department of Radiology are dedicated to fostering an innovative and supportive environment for our staff and faculty. This position plays a vital role in supporting departmental financial operations by providing accurate information, analysis, and assistance to faculty, staff, and internal partners.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Finance & Accounting Analyst to provide financial and accounting guidance and oversight, as well as perform a variety of financial and accounting functions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide financial and accounting information, guidance, and support to SOM and departmental staff.
• Understand how the finance team integrates with other units to meet departmental and School of Medicine objectives.
• Complete financial tasks and assigned responsibilities with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Contribute to the quality, timeliness, and overall effectiveness of financial operations within the team.
• Communicate financial information clearly to team members, noting trends, anomalies, process improvements, or efficiencies to supervisors or appropriate stakeholders.
• Serve as a liaison within the department and with external partners to resolve routine financial or accounting matters.
• Financial Processing:
  
  • Be fully trained on all financial processing duties and financial policies and provide backup and assistance as necessary to the Department with duties to include:
    • Complete and track reimbursements and payments
    • OneCard management and reconciliations
    • Serve as department Time Keeper
    • Enter JED changes and payroll correcting entries
    • Create journal entries
• Financial Management & Reporting:
  
  • Conduct financial reviews.
  • Analyze financial division reports.
  • Ensure compliance with financial protocols.
  • Provide requested reports to department and divisional staff.
• Communication & Collaboration:
  
  • Work closely with divisions and other staff on a variety of fiscal issues.
  • Offer financial training as needed.
• Annual Responsibilities:
  
  • Provide support for year-end close process as needed
  • Provide support for the annual budget process as needed.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Perform other duties as assigned to support the financial operations of the Department.

Shift

Monday – Friday
8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $22.10 - $31.50 hourly
Grade: GGS - 009
