Taejae University invites applications for one full-time faculty position in its Data Science and Artificial Intelligence Program. As a teaching-focused university, Taejae appoints all faculty members to non-tenure-track positions. The appointment will be made at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor, depending on the candidate's qualifications and experience. The appointment is for a three-year term and is renewable based on annual performance evaluations.

Based in Seoul, Republic of Korea, Taejae University prepares students from around the world to become globally minded leaders and changemakers. Grounded in active learning, our distinctive educational model combines small, interactive seminars with immersive academic and co-curricular experiences across Taejae's global residential programs.
All courses are taught in English in a highly interactive online format, giving faculty members the flexibility to teach from anywhere in the world while engaging closely with a diverse, international community of students.
The new faculty member will teach four-credit courses in the Data Science and Artificial Intelligence Program online starting in Spring 2027 and will also have the opportunity to advise senior capstone projects based on their expertise and teaching interests. The standard teaching load will be three courses per semester (3-3), and other responsibilities may include mentoring students, contributing to curriculum design, participating in faculty workshops, and serving on academic/administrative committees.
Basic Qualifications
Ph. D. in data science, computer science, statistics, artificial intelligence, or other relevant fields, or advancement to candidacy by the time of application
Preferred Qualifications
- Successful instructional experience at the undergraduate level
- Strong commitment to active learning pedagogies and a willingness to explore new teaching methods/technologies
- Demonstrated success in supervising students in research projects and other experiential learning settings
- Proven experience in curricular design/planning, including the development of innovative and engaging course materials, assignments, and assessments
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with students and faculty from diverse cultural backgrounds
Areas of Specialization
Applicants should demonstrate strong teaching ability and scholarly or professional expertise in any area of data science and artificial intelligence, including but not limited to:
- Data literacy and computational thinking for undergraduate learners
- Large language models, multimodal AI, and agentic AI
- Computational and applied mathematics for data science and AI
- Computational decision science, including optimization and decision analysis
- Predictive analytics and statistical modeling
- Data management and the data lifecycle, including data engineering and data governance
Teaching assignments will be determined based on the Program's needs and may include foundational courses such as Data Structures and Algorithms, advanced courses in areas such as Next-generation AI, Computational Mathematics, Decision Science, and Predictive Analytics.
Preference may be given to candidates whose expertise complements the Program's curriculum and who can teach across multiple areas.
