The Department of Health and Social Care is a leading provider of undergraduate and postgraduate education for allied health professions and associated subject areas such as Physiotherapy, Nursing, Public Health, Social Work. Delivering pre-registration BSc and MSc Occupational Therapy programmes plus post registration opportunities. Our pre-registration MSc programme is the only programme outside America to be accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE).
The Occupational Therapy Curriculum is underpinned by person centred care, with four threads guiding our teaching and module delivery: Enabling Occupation, Professionalism and Development, Evidence-based Practice and Research and Placements.
Role description and essential person specification competencies
The Academic Lead for Occupational Therapy Practice Placements is one of the leadership positions in the Occupational Therapy at Brunel University of London. The role is essential for enabling the delivery of practice-based education and are a requirement for the American Occupational Therapy Association’s Accreditation Council for OT Education (ACOTE) for our MSc programme. It requires a person with extensive skill, knowledge of practice-based education and the ability to be a core member of the team. This is an opportunity for the right person to create, implement, and oversee practice-based education for Occupational Therapy to prepare our future graduates for the workplace.
