The Chair is responsible for effective stewardship of the department’s budget, resources, and funding priorities and works to identify opportunities that support the department’s strategic goals and continued growth. The Chair promotes effective, transparent, and timely communication within the department and serves as an advocate and representative for the department to the school, university, profession, and broader community. Beyond administrative responsibilities, the Chair is expected to maintain an active research program with scholarship, contribute to teaching/mentoring, and provide service aligned with an appointment as Professor.
