Dodge College of Film and Media Arts at Chapman University seeks applications for its Part-Time Lecturer Pool for potential teaching opportunities in the following areas/disciplines:

Appointments from the part-time pool are temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term, so applicants must be available at times on very short notice. Fall contracts begin in mid-August and end late-December; Spring contracts begin in mid-January and end mid-May. Opportunities for teaching during the Summer and Interterm Sessions may also be available.

Qualifications

Required

University teaching experience or related field experience
Demonstrated currency in subject area related to the position being sought
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively orally and in writing.
Strong commitment to student learning, quality teaching and academic excellence.
Ability to motivate and teach students of diverse learning styles and backgrounds.
Appreciation and respect for student role, contribution, and responsibility in the learning process.
Ability to teach in-person on campus.

Preferred

Earned terminal degree from an accredited institution in the subject area related to the position being sought or significant professional experience in related field.

Should you remain interested in future openings beyond August 15th, you will need to reapply. The pay range for course and course related work for this position is $48.24 per hour. This position is contingent on final budget approval. Successful completion of a background check is required for all selected candidates.
