Delaware Valley University is seeking a collaborative and forward-thinking Director of Enterprise Systems and Services to provide strategic, technical, and operational leadership for the University’s enterprise application ecosystem.

This role is responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, security, integration, and ongoing modernization of core administrative and academic systems, including the University’s Enterprise Resource Planning system and related enterprise platforms. The Director will serve as a key bridge between Technology Services and campus functional areas, helping translate institutional priorities into effective technology solutions that support student success and operational excellence.

The Director of Enterprise Systems and Services will lead a team of technical professionals, guide enterprise system strategy, strengthen data integration and governance practices, and champion modern business processes across the institution.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic and Operational Leadership

  • Define the roadmap, architecture standards, and lifecycle management practices for the University’s ERP and related enterprise systems.
  • Translate institutional priorities into clear operational plans, service-level expectations, and measurable technology outcomes.
  • Establish standard operating procedures and strong change-management protocols.
  • Promote modern software and integration practices that support system availability, performance monitoring, security, compliance, and data integrity.

Team Leadership and Talent Development

  • Lead, mentor, and empower a team of enterprise applications and integration professionals.
  • Foster a proactive, accountable, service-oriented culture focused on continuous improvement and collaboration.
  • Establish clear team objectives, encourage cross-training, and support ongoing professional development in emerging enterprise technologies.

Systems Integration, Data, and Process Modernization

  • Oversee data integration across platforms using modern APIs, batch pipelines, and integration middleware.
  • Partner with functional leaders in areas such as Registrar, Financial Aid, Finance, Human Resources, Admissions, and others to evaluate and improve cross-departmental business workflows.
  • Support institutional data governance, reporting, and operational data stores to enable reliable, data-informed decision-making.
  • Serve as the senior technical escalation point for critical enterprise incidents, ensuring root-cause analysis, documentation, and clear stakeholder communication.

Project Portfolio and Vendor Management

  • Oversee the enterprise systems project portfolio using structured project management methodologies to ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope.
  • Manage strategic relationships with enterprise software vendors, consultants, and service providers.
  • Lead product evaluations, contract reviews, and resource planning to maximize the value of institutional technology investments.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • At least five years of progressively responsible experience in enterprise systems architecture, administration, or integration.
  • Equivalent combinations of education, professional certifications, and hands-on experience will be considered.
  • Demonstrated success leading, mentoring, and developing technical personnel or cross-functional project teams.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise architectures, relational databases such as MSSQL, and modern system integration methods, including REST/SOAP APIs, middleware, and ETL/ELT.
  • Proven ability to execute and deliver complex, multi-stakeholder enterprise projects, implementations, or upgrades from initiation through adoption.
  • Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical academic and administrative partners.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Information Systems, Technology Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Experience in higher education IT environments.
  • Familiarity with student information systems and higher education ERP platforms, such as Ellucian Colleague.
  • Hands-on experience with higher education integration and reporting platforms such as Ellucian Ethos, Informer, TransAct, operational data stores, or enterprise payment and commerce platforms such as TouchNet.
  • Working knowledge of data governance frameworks and agile or ITIL service management principles.

Work Environment

This position operates in a standard office environment with options for flexible or hybrid scheduling. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required during critical institutional milestones, including peak registration periods, fiscal year-end close, scheduled maintenance windows, or major system cutovers.

About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced enterprise systems leader who enjoys working at the intersection of technology, operations, data, and service. The successful candidate will be a strategic partner to campus stakeholders and a hands-on leader who can guide modernization, strengthen system reliability, and help advance the University’s mission through effective technology solutions.
