Founding Director, School of Architecture
Tennessee Tech University
Tennessee Tech University seeks a visionary architect-educator to serve as the Founding Director for its new School of Architecture in Cookeville, TN. The Director will lead the launch, continual development, and accreditation of a new Bachelor of Architecture program that prepares graduates to become competent, skilled, professionally licensed, and community-minded architects.
The program, designed around studio-based instruction and a regional focus on rural and community-centered design, will prepare students for professional architectural practice and pathways toward architectural licensure. The curriculum will emphasize the built environment of the Upper Cumberland and communities like it — regional growth, rural development and the design questions that come with both. Cookeville ranked ninth nationally in numeric growth among micropolitan areas between 2023 and 2024, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.
Tennessee Tech University has engaged CSA Search & Consulting to assist in the recruitment of the Founding Director for the School of Architecture. Confidential inquiries and nominations should be sent via email to Charles Kaler via TTU.Architecture@csasearch.consulting.
