School of Pharmacy at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) invites applications for a tenure track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the field of Pharmaceutical Sciences. We seek an outstanding and collaborative scholar conducting innovative research in emerging and high-impact areas of pharmaceutical sciences, including, but not limited to:
- Advanced Drug Delivery, Biomaterials & Nanomedicine
- RNA, Gene & Advanced Therapeutics
- AI, Computational Drug Discovery & Bioinformatics
- Precision Medicine, Multi-omics & Systems Pharmacology
- Biopharmaceutics, Pharmacometrics & Drug Disposition

This position offers an outstanding opportunity to develop an independent, externally funded research program within a vibrant academic community. The successful candidate will contribute to the School’s mission of improving patient care and public health through innovative research and education.
Responsibilities:
- develop and maintain an independent, rigorous, and externally funded research programme;
- publish scholarly work in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals;
- contribute to the teaching mission of the School by instructing professional (Bachelor of Pharmacy) and graduate (Master of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Drug Development, MPhil and PhD in Pharmacy) students in relevant areas;
- mentor graduate students and postdoctoral fellows;
- provide service to the School, College, University, and the broader professional community; and
- other academic and professional duties assigned by the School Director.
Required Qualifications:
- a PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in pharmaceutical sciences or a closely related discipline;
- a strong record of scholarly achievement, demonstrated by publications in peer-reviewed journals relevant to the stated research fields;
- evidence of potential to secure independent external research funding;
- excellent written and verbal communication skills; and
- a commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring a diverse body of students.
Applicants with the following will have an advantage:
- postdoctoral research experience or equivalent;
- a proven record of, or strong potential for, interdisciplinary collaboration; and
- experience in teaching or teaching assistant role in the pharmacy-related fields at the university level.
Review of applications will commence in November 2026 and continue until the post is filled. Candidates will be contacted before references being approached, and all grants will be validated with the appropriate funding agency.
Appointment will normally be made on contract basis for up to three years initially, which, subject to good performance and mutual agreement, may lead to longer-term appointment or substantiation later.
