About the College/Unit/Department
The Department of Political Science at the University of Georgia offers AB, BS, MA and PhD degrees with specializations in American politics, law and courts, and political theory. Known for the quality of their research, the faculty have published in all major political science journals and with leading university presses, have consistently ranked among the most productive in the nation, and have authored several widely used texts. Department faculty have won every major teaching award offered by the University and several Lilly Teaching Fellowships.

Position Summary
The Department of Political Science in the UGA School of Public and International Affairs (SPIA) seeks a colleague for a new tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level. The Department invites applications from scholars with substantive interests in any subfield in American politics, political methodology, or theory who also possess a specialization in artificial intelligence (AI).
We welcome applications from candidates whose research and teaching inform the use of AI research tools to address questions in their areas of expertise. We also welcome applications from candidates who conduct research that explores the effects of artificial intelligence on the functioning of democracy in the U.S.
The successful candidate will contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching, mentor students, and collaborate across departments and research centers. In particular, candidates who can contribute to the graduate and undergraduate curricula in AI related courses and political methodology are encouraged to apply.
