At Helmholtz Munich, we develop groundbreaking solutions for a healthier society in a rapidly changing world. We believe that diverse perspectives drive innovation. Through strong partnerships, we accelerate the transfer of new ideas from the lab to real-life applications, improving lives.

Helmholtz Biomedical Engineering Initiative | Strategic Partnerships, Training & Funding

The Helmholtz Association is Germany’s largest scientific research organization and one of Europe’s leading research institutions, advancing world-class research in health, energy, environment and cutting-edge technologies. The Helmholtz Biomedical Engineering Initiative unites ten Helmholtz Centres to advance biomedical engineering at the intersection of engineering, life sciences, medicine and clinical translation. To support its strategic development and long-term sustainability, we seek a highly motivated Strategic Program Manager (f/m/x) to help develop partnerships and attract competitive funding for research and training programs from regional, national and European sources. Building on our strong track record of successful funding acquisition, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to the Initiative's future development, visibility and impact, working closely with leading scientists and stakeholders across Helmholtz.

  • Make a tangible scientific and societal impact: Support the development of programs and partnerships that accelerate medical technology innovation, strengthen interdisciplinary training and bring engineering advances closer to clinical application.
  • Work at the forefront of interdisciplinary innovation: Collaborate with leading scientists and engineers across ten Helmholtz Centres and develop valuable connections with industry representatives and major funding organisations.
  • Build your professional network and expertise: Gain exposure to national and international scientific, industrial and funding environments, with opportunities to develop your skills in research management, strategic partnerships and competitive funding acquisition.
