The Learning Experience Designer - Emerging Technologies plays an integral role in developing and supporting high-quality technology-enhanced instruction and learning experiences, including extended reality and artificial intelligence. The role involves analyzing, designing, developing, and evaluating learning experiences, systems and processes, technologies, and instructional materials. These efforts support various delivery methods, including face-to-face connect, web-enhanced, online, blended, flex, and technology-supported instruction. The Learning Experience Designer - Emerging Technologies - will provide leadership to activities associated with the new XR/AI Learning Lab. An interest in emerging technologies is essential. This position will research, inform, and provide support to faculty and instructional staff creating immersive learning experiences and activities. They will concentrate on storytelling and pedagogy while working closely with the Immersive Learning Design Specialist who will be building immersive learning environments.

Instructional and Learning Experience Design and Development
- Work with faculty and staff in any teaching modality, including online, blended, flex, and XR/AI technology
- Analyze, design, and develop content, activities, assessments, courses, and processes for multiple modalities through the appropriate blend of pedagogy and technology based on learning theory, instructional design practices, and quality assurance rubrics.
- Provide consultations and serve as a resource to faculty and staff on the design, development, implementation, evaluation, and revision of learning outcomes, course modality, high-impact learning practices, Universal Design for Learning (UDL), accessibility issues and remediation, content creation, effective assessment strategies, and other instructional design, learning experience, and/or technology concerns. The position will assist faculty and staff with XR and AI applications.

- Demonstrate a strong foundation in technology with a keen interest in artificial intelligence, XR, and other emerging technologies and their applications in an educational environment.
- Demonstrate knowledge of fundamental generative AI and use a variety of generative artificial intelligence tools for different purposes (i.e. text generation, image creation, video creation, code creation, sound creation, etc.); discern which of those technologies and tools are best suited for different specific educational and business use cases.
- Demonstrate knowledge of fundamental XR concepts and use tools for creation and delivery of XR content; discern which of those technologies and tools are best suited for different specific educational and business use cases.
- Demonstrate advanced computing and technology skills and efficiency utilizing complex computing applications.

- Demonstrate advanced written, presentation, and training skills to nurture collaboration and knowledge sharing practices related to new or updated technology with the ability to explain complex technological concepts in an accessible manner to any audience.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) or equivalent in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, XR/AI or other relevant field with three or more years of related experience is required. Two or more years of blended teaching is preferred. Must be proficient with generative AI tools and applications; XR tools and applications; Experience with the following applications is preferred: Canvas, Respondus, Adobe Creative Suite, Camtasia, Snagit, Canva, Unity, Blender.
