【About GSIM at IUJ】
Established on March 23, 1988 with full approval and accreditation from the Ministry of Education of Japan, GSIM was the first U.S.-style business school in Japan. It was founded with the support of approximately 1,000 Japanese companies, including Matsushita, Komatsu, IBM-Japan, Sony, and Toyota.
IUJ offers only graduate-level programs, with all instruction conducted in English. GSIM has played a pivotal role in bridging management thinking between international and Japanese business communities, helping international students access Japanese job markets and supporting Japanese companies in expanding globally.
- GSIM ranks among the top business schools in the Asia-Pacific region.
- In the Economist Intelligence Unit’s Top-100 Business Schools of the World rankings, IUJ-GSIM has been the only business school in Japan to appear for more than 10 consecutive years.
- GSIM is accredited by AACSB International, the hallmark of excellence in business education. It is one of only six AACSB-accredited universities in Japan, and the first English-medium AACSB-accredited school in the country. The Graduate School of International Management (GSIM) at the International University of Japan (IUJ) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in the Strategic Management area. The position is open to all ranks (Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Full Professor), with an appointment starting in September 2027.
Qualifications

Compensation and Teaching Load
- Compensation is commensurate with academic accomplishments and experience.
- Minimum salary levels:
- Assistant Professor: 7 million JPY
- Associate Professor: 8 million JPY
- Full Professor: 9 million JPY
- Adjustments may be made based on qualifications and achievements.
- Additional payments are available for teaching beyond the minimum requirements or in executive education programs (often amounting to approximately 1 million JPY annually).
- Teaching load: 96 hours per academic year, all at the MBA level in English. Each course runs for eight weeks.
- GSIM provides research funding and subscribes to major databases including ScienceDirect, EBSCO, ProQuest, Capital IQ, LSEG Database, and Eikon with Datastream.
