The Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance (FDEF) at the University of Luxembourg offers an international and interdisciplinary environment for research and teaching in law, economics, finance and related disciplines. The Department of Finance at the Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance (FDEF) is home to the Chair and Research Programme in Sustainable Finance, renewed through 2030 with the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Environment, Climate and Biodiversity. The Department is organised around four clusters - Asset Management, Institutions, Financial Innovation and Sustainable Finance - and offers the Master in Wealth Management and the Master in Finance and Economics, including a growing Sustainable Finance track.
Your role
The successful candidate is expected to build an independent research profile and an internationally visible record. Specific expertise in climate risk, ESG regulation, impact measurement, or a closely related field is considered an asset. The candidate will contribute to teaching within the Sustainable Finance track and to the development of a dedicated Master's programme in Sustainable Finance; and will contribute to the Department's broader teaching and outreach activities.

Your profile
A PhD in Finance or Economics; a strong, independent research trajectory in finance or economics, with publications or working papers positioned for leading academic journals; a genuine interest in building teaching expertise in sustainable finance; and openness to engaging with policy and industry stakeholders through the Chair in Sustainable Finance. A research track record in sustainable/climate finance, ESG, or a closely related field is considered a strong asset.
Language requirements:
The University of Luxembourg is set in a multilingual and multicultural context. The person hired on this position must have an excellent command of English and either French or German. The University encourages its staff to learn the other language and provides access to language courses to this end.
