Visa Information
TTUHSC, at its sole discretion, may initiate new H-1B I-129 visa petitions in accordance with the directive issued by Governor Abbott. Approval from the Texas Workforce Commission is required. On a limited, case-by-case basis, the institution may also sponsor eligible individuals for change-of-status or change-of-employer petitions for qualifying positions. TTUHSC will not pay the $100,000 fee, if applicable.
Position Description
Employees in this classification are responsible for providing professional nursing care in an assigned specialty or subspecialty clinic. They perform a variety of general and specialized nursing duties as part of a total health care team to provide the patient with complete evaluations. Employees in this position generally assist the head nurse in the supervision of other clinic personnel and may substitute for this person in the event of his/her absence. May supervise and instruct subordinate nursing personnel. Receives supervision from head nurse or physician, functions independently within guidelines. May supervise ancillary nursing personnel in the performance of certain tasks, and assists in training personnel. Work is performed under usual clinic conditions and requires a high degree of contact with patients, families, and other clinic personnel and outside professionals.
Major/Essential Functions
- Patient Assessment & Monitoring: Conduct comprehensive clinical assessments, monitor maternal and fetal vital signs, and perform or assist with electronic fetal monitoring (EFM)
- Procedure Assistance: Assist MFM physicians with high-risk diagnostic procedures and ultrasounds (such as targeted anatomical scans, amniocentesis, or other specialized testing)
- Care Coordination: Implement individualized care plans, triage patient phone calls or symptoms, coordinate referrals, and bridge communication between the patient, family, and specialists
- Complete NSTs
- Utilize the nursing process in planning, implementing, and evaluating the patient plan of care
- Guide and direct assigned unlicensed assistive personnel in delivering interdisciplinary patient care
- Communicate and collaborate with members of the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and continuity of care
- Positively contributing to safety outcomes and promoting high quality patient experience

Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an approved accredited nursing program; current RN license in the State of Texas or have the ability to transfer license to Texas.
- A minimum of two years of Staff Nurse experience in a specialty area.

- Previous related clinical experience

- BSN Preferred
