June E Huh Center for Mathematical Challenges (HCMC), the expansion of the former CMC of Korea Institute for Advanced Study, is a mathematical research institute aiming to become a global hub where mathematical talents worldwide come together to share intellectual curiosity and ultimately resolve mathematical challenges.
HCMC is seeking an outstanding candidate with a comprehensive perspective across the field of mathematics for the KIAS Senior Fellow position.

2. Required Qualifications
General Requirements
- Those who are qualified under the "Korean State Public Officials Act" (Refer to the disqualifying factors listed in Article 33.)
- Those with no restrictions to international travel
- Scientists who are aged 65 or older as of the date of appointment and who are able to work for at least the initial contract period (three years) until the contract expiration date determined by the age limit (70)
- Professor or equivalent with Ph.D. in the relevant field, who has contributed to the research area with outstanding research achievements
- Those who are able to serve as a mentor to June E Huh Fellows and HCMC Fellows
Specific Requirements
- Demonstrated research excellency, various experiences, and leadership in the field which bring the research area to the world-leading level
- Record of, or demonstrated potential for, successful research and publication in the subject research area
- Demonstrated commitment to working successfully with diverse research groups

3. Terms of Employment
Period of Appointment
The initial appointment for the KIAS Senior Fellow position is three years with possibility of a one-time renewal of two years. (The period of appointment may be adjusted according to the circumstances of the HCMC project.)
Salary & Benefits
The annual salary is determined in accordance with the internal regulations of KIAS. The total personnel cost is approximately KRW 90,000,000 per year. In addition, a research grant of KRW 20,000,000 per year is provided. All KIAS members are covered by Korean national health insurance.
On-campus housing may be provided, subject to availability at the time of appointment.
The conditions above may be subject to modification depending on the circumstances of the project or program.

7. Documents Required for the Shortlisted Candidates from Initial Screening
- Required Documents: Three reference letters requested by the applicant
- Letters must be submitted directly by the referees. (KIAS Professors and HCMC Distinguished Professors cannot serve as referees.)
- Submission Period: Within 30 days (KST) from the next business day after the announcement of the initial screening results.
- Detailed instructions will be provided only to the shortlisted candidates after the Initial screening.
- All reference letters must be received by the deadline. Incomplete submissions will result in disqualification from the in-depth review.
8. Additional Information
- All documents should be submitted by deadline, and if any of a certain applicant's required documents is missing or incomplete, the applicant's materials may not be evaluated.
- If the information provided by the application materials is found to be untrue or false, the job offer will be withdrawn.
- The work level and annual salary of successful candidates will comply with KIAS regulations.

3. 채용조건
계약기간
초임 계약은 3년간 계약, 이후 1회에 한하여 최대 2년 계약 연장 가능(계약기간은 HCMC 사업 사정에 따라 조정할 수 있음)
처우
- 연봉은 고등과학원 내규에 따름
- 기관 부담 인건비 90,000천 원 내외(연봉·퇴직금·복지카드·4대 보험료 포함)
- 상기 인건비 외 연구비 20,000천 원/년 지원
- 원내 숙소 제공 가능. 다만, 사용 여유분이 있을 경우에 한함
- 사업/과제의 사정에 따라 조정될 수 있음
