About the role
Join a friendly and supportive School Office team of five, based on the scenic Falmer Campus at the University of Brighton. In this varied and rewarding role, you'll play a key part in supporting Year 1, Year 2 and Year 4 medical students as they take their first steps towards a career as a doctor. This team is one of three School Offices based across Brighton and Hove.
You'll work across a range of clinically focused modules, coordinating activities and providing administrative support that helps ensure students have an excellent learning experience. No two days are the same. One day you may be liaising with NHS partners and clinicians to support teaching delivery, and the next you could be working closely with academic and professional services colleagues to solve problems and improve processes.
This is an exciting opportunity to be at the centre of a collaborative network of professionals, all working towards a shared goal: preparing the next generation of doctors. If you enjoy building relationships, managing a varied workload and making a meaningful contribution to student success, you'll find this role both engaging and rewarding.
About you
We are looking for an organised, proactive and flexible individual who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and takes pride in delivering an excellent service. You will have a good standard of secondary education and the ability to manage a varied workload, using effective planning and organisational skills to balance competing priorities and meet deadlines.
You will be a confident communicator, with strong oral and written communication skills, able to build positive working relationships with colleagues, students and external partners, while providing clear information and responding effectively to queries. As part of a small School Office team, you will be comfortable working collaboratively to support shared objectives, while also using your own initiative to work independently and solve problems.
Strong IT skills are essential, including experience of using Microsoft Office applications to manage your workload efficiently and maintain accurate records. Above all, you will be enthusiastic, adaptable and committed to supporting medical students as they begin their journey towards becoming future healthcare professionals.
