Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Summary
The lab is hriing a postdoctoral position in the Department of Molecular and Human Genetics at Baylor College of Medicine. The Postdoctoral Associate will design and lead the project aimed to elucidate how blood forming stem cells acrue mutations to cause a premalignant state in vivo. The Postdoctoral Associate will perform flow cytometry, bone marrow transplantation, and histological analyses, in addition to general molecular biological techniques to study leukemia. The Postdoctoral Associate will also work with the PI to prepare the manuscript.
Baylor College of Medicine typically follows similar to the NIH stipulated stipend guidelines for Postdoctoral Associates.
Job Duties
- Perform experiments to complete projects designed to study leukemia or hematopoietic stem cell biology.
- Perform bone marrow transplantation, flow cytometry, genomics profiling, transcriptomics profiling, and other molecular biology experiments. Analyze, interpret, and record the results.
- Write manuscript with the PI to report the findings.
- Review the literature, summarize the experimental results, and prepare drafts of the manuscript.
- Present the results to the scientific community.
- Prepare presentation slides and present the results to the lab and to the scientific community.
- Present the results to the scientific community.

- Perform other job related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- MD or Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
- No experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
- MD/PhD or Ph.D. in cell biology, molecular biology, and or related field.
- Experience in stem cell biology, and/or cancer biology is highly desirable.
- Interest in stem cell biology with strong bioinformatics or systems biology background are encouraged to apply.
