The School is one of Austalia’s leading Physics Schools and has achieved this status through the high quality of its research and teaching programs. Other nodes of TMOS are based at the Australian National University, the University of Western Australia, RMIT University and University of Technology Sydney.</p>\n\n\n<p><strong>The opportunity</strong></p>\n\n\n<p>MSE is seeking to appoint an emerging academic with a background in nanoscience or optics to join the ARC Centre of Excellence in Transformative Meta-Optical Systems (TMOS). TMOS is an exciting collaboration of leading local and international universities as well as global industry to create revolutionary optics-based technologies. The Centre aims to deliver scientific innovations with significant commercial application and lead the future of meta-optics.</p>\n\n\n<p>Under the supervision of Prof Ken Crozier and Prof Ann Roberts the Research Fellow will work on the experimental realisation of new nano-optical devices and their incorporation into optical systems. You will design and simulate meta-optical devices, undertake nanofabrication to realise the devices, and develop new methods to characterise them optically and/or electrically.</p>\n\n\n<p><strong>Diversity and inclusion</strong></p>\n\n\n<p>We believe that diversity is the key to innovation, diversity and an inclusive culture drive the scientific excellence of TMOS. Your motivation to conduct research of the highest quality coupled with strong organisational skills will be critical to your success.</p>\n\n\n<p><strong>You will have</strong></p>\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>A PhD (or close to completion) in a relevant area of electrical and electronic engineering or physics, including nanoscience or optics;</li>\n<li>Demonstrated ability in experimental cleanroom nanofabrication and characterisation and/or developing and using custom optical systems;</li>\n<li>Expertise in relevant theory and modelling, experimental semiconductor device physics and electronics and experience in attracting funding through competitive grant applications will be highly regarded;</li>\n</ul>\n\n\n<p><strong>What we offer you</strong></p>\n\n\n<p>We offer flexibility, whatever that may mean for you.
