Our academic staff possess a broad range of expertise in specialist areas and teach into undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Education that are accredited for teacher registration in Australia and into other programs in areas of specialisation.\n\n\nWe are currently seeking an enthusiastic and highly qualified Associate Professor or Professor in Early Childhood Education to provide leadership within the School and to deliver high quality and innovative curriculum and pedagogy, research and external engagement outcomes. The successful candidate will lead a young and vibrant research team keen to expand current research interests.\n\n\nWhat you’ll do\n\n\nReporting to the Head of School (Education), you will play a pivotal role within the School by producing quality publications, pursuing external funding, and working with colleagues to shape high-impact projects particularly in early childhood education. In doing so, you will:\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Contribute to the conduct and delivery of lectures, tutorials, workshops and demonstrations.</li>\n<li>Build sustainable relationships with a range of industry partners and government agencies through working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, and in rural and remote areas.</li>\n<li>Provide academic leadership, support and direction to other academic employees.</li>\n</ul>\n\n\nWhat will help you succeed? \n\n\nKey to your success in this role will be your passion for and experience in delivering high-quality tertiary teaching, leadership and productivity in the early childhood sector. You will have evidence of a strong history in obtaining research funding and achieving high level publications. In addition, you will have:\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>A doctoral qualification within a disciplinary field relevant to Early Childhood Education, or a related area of expertise and specialisation within Education.</li>\n<li>Proven expertise and extensive national and international experience in one or more of the following areas focused on early childhood: curriculum and pedagogy, self-regulation, creativity, arts pedagogy, science, technology and/or mathematics.</li>\n<li>A thorough understanding of ACECQA expectations in early learning centres and schools.</li>\n</ul>\n\n\nKnowledge of and involvement in accreditation of initial teacher education programs and successful registration as a teacher in Queensland, or eligibility to apply for such registration will be highly regarded.
