The Associate Director, Office of Research and Innovation, will work with the Associate Dean for Research to support Penn Engineering’s strategic initiatives in research and innovation.</p>\n\n\n<p><b><u>Job Description</u></b></p>\n\n\n<p>The Associate Director, Office of Research and Innovation, will work with the Associate Dean for Research to support Penn Engineering’s strategic initiatives in research and innovation. Facilitate research proposals by tracking and informing the faculty of funding opportunities, maintaining an up-to-date database of templates and example materials for major and regular sponsors, and managing internal competitions for limited submissions. For large team proposals, support proposal writing, review, and, as appropriate, site visits. For junior faculty, postdocs, and graduate students, manage a calendar and database of opportunities, and organize workshops to guide career development, proposal writing, publishing, and presentations. Work, as needed, to support the day-to-day operations of Penn Engineering research activities. Work with Penn’s Center for Innovation to organize workshops, collate data on patenting and copyrighting of Penn Engineering’s assets, and aid in building and maintaining sponsored research. Share guidelines on compliance and collate data on international collaborations and extramural activities. Communicate the activities of the Office via email and a website; convene meetings, draft agendas, record minutes, and suggest follow up actions; and assist the Associate Dean in organizing and executing their responsibilities and that of the Office.</p>\n\n\n<p> </p>\n\n\n<p>A Bachelor's degree and a minimum of three years of related experience, preferably in an academic environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be highly motivated, well organized, and able to maintain and prioritize concurrent projects. Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with individuals at every level within the School and across the University.
