If you’re curious, motivated, want to be part of a unique community, and help shape the future then take a look at this opportunity.</p>\n\n\n<p><strong>HUMAN RESOURCES (HR) COORDINATOR</strong>, Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL), to provide HR services and support to a laboratory comprised of 1000 faculty, staff, postdocs, and students. Will support all facets of the HR function, including recruitment, employee relations, onboarding, training, staff development, rewards and recognition, performance management, compensation administration and analysis, HR policy interpretation and guidance, and personnel record-keeping. Will also produce reports, coordinate events, review salary distributions, document procedures, participate in special projects, collaborate on identifying HR needs, design and implement HR strategies and plans, ensure that all HR programs are compliant with local legislation and MIT policies, and deliver high quality programs and services that result in improved performance and retention. </p>\n\n\n<p><strong>Job Requirements</strong></p>\n\n\n<p><strong>REQUIRED: </strong>bachelor’s degree in HR or related field; at least two years’ direct HR experience, including general knowledge of basic HR functional areas; ability to interpret and apply general HR policies/regulations/employment laws; sound judgment and discretion with highly sensitive confidential information; strong employee-relations, customer service, organizational, analytical, active listening, problem-solving, and written and verbal communication skills; self-motivation; proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and the internet; and knowledge of or ability to learn HR management systems, including applicant tracking and performance management systems. Must be able to serve as a “go-to” HR resource for the lab, collaborate within a team-based working environment, adapt to changing work conditions/assignments, prioritize and follow through on competing tasks, meet deadlines with attention to detail, and work independently. </p>\n\n\n<p><strong>PREFERRED:</strong> ability to analyze and improve or create processes/procedures; knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws; project and process management skills; and desire to develop background across multiple HR disciplines.
