If you’re curious, motivated, want to be part of a unique community, and help shape the future then take a look at this opportunity.</p>\n\n\n<p>EDUCATION SPECIALIST, Chancellor’s Office-Institute Discrimination and Harassment Response Office (IDHR), to provide training, education, and outreach on topics related to discrimination and discriminatory harassment. Will create and implement ongoing education in academic departments, create and implement initiatives to support undergraduate and graduate students, and assist with data evaluation and related projects as assigned. Responsibilities include developing and facilitating departmental trainings and awareness programming aimed at reducing incidents of discrimination and discriminatory harassment, increasing bystander intervention, enhancing trauma-informed responses to incidents, and promoting on-campus resources; maintaining records for training programs and regularly assessing effectiveness; coordinating with campus partners to implement and track completion of online training modules; delivering intersectional and socio-culturally relevant prevention and intervention programs that serve diverse student populations; ensuring IDHR materials, resources, and MIT policies are embedded within and available at student orientation programs; recruiting and engaging student volunteers; collecting and maintaining data and collaborating on developing user-friendly reports and presentations; creating new/edit existing IDHR education and outreach materials; assisting with report development; assisting with the development and maintenance of collaborative partnerships; participating on task forces and committees; and other duties as needed. </p>\n\n\n<p><strong>Job Requirements</strong></p>\n\n\n<p><strong>REQUIRED:</strong> bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred) in a related field (e.g., education, social work, student affairs, public health); three years’ experience in higher education or closely related setting; demonstrated knowledge of discrimination and/or gender-based violence training and education; excellent interpersonal, writing, facilitation, and presentation skills; and advanced-level proficiency with Microsoft Office. Must be able to serve underrepresented/underserved populations with cultural competence and sensitivity; cultivate relationships in MIT’s diverse community of students/postdocs/faculty/staff; and plan, develop, organize, and follow through on projects/plans in a high pressure, dynamic environment.
