Coolthink brings computational thinking to fourth-, fifth-, and sixth-grade students through teaching Scratch and App Inventor. Will help to develop a new teacher training curriculum for Coolthink teachers, help run teacher training in Hong Kong, ensuring the implementation of MIT-developed teacher training materials in collaboration with partners in Hong Kong, and work closely with other MIT App Inventor team members to advance the educational goals of MIT App Inventor. </p>\n\n\n<p>Additional information about MIT App Inventor is available at https://appinventor.mit.edu/. </p>\n\n\n<p><strong>Job Requirements</strong></p>\n\n\n<p><strong><em>REQUIRED</em>: </strong> B.A./B.S. (master’s preferred) in education, computer science, or related area; at least two years’ relevant work experience; computer science education experience; experience with MIT App Inventor and Scratch; experience training teachers; strong writing, presentation, problem-solving, time-management, decision-making, organizational, interpersonal, and customer service skills; meticulous attention to detail; proficiency with office software (including email, spreadsheets, and presentation); working knowledge of the internet and social media; ability work proactively and independently, prioritize workload, manage multiple projects and competing demands, deliver high-quality results, meet deadlines, and work productively in a remote work environment; discretion with sensitive/confidential information; experience living or working in Hong Kong and high-level knowledge of its education system; fluency in written and verbal English and Cantonese; and ability to transport materials/equipment weighing up to 25 pounds. </p>\n\n\n<p><strong><em>PREFERRED</em>:</strong> experience working with students/teachers on educational technology initiatives; experience with/knowledge of the Coolthink project; direct experience with MIT App Inventor in an educational context; experience with computer programming, formal or self-taught, and with artificial intelligence in education; and MIT experience. <strong>Job #18735-6</strong></p>\n\n\n<p>Will be required to live and work in Hong Kong for the duration of the project and to travel to the U.S. when necessary, possibly for extended periods of time. </p>\n\n\n<p>This position is funded for twelve-months with the possibility of extension. </p>\n\n\n<p>MIT is an equal employment opportunity employer.
