These adverse situations are associated with psychological stresses related to fear of losing life, family members, property, job, etc. For instance, the Russian famine of the 1920s, the Dutch Famine and the siege of Leningrad of WWII have provided information on the influence of long-term food shortage on humans in the form of shorter body height, hypertension, obesity, postponed menarche or earlier menopause, mainly in those who were exposed to the severe food shortage in utero and during the first years of life. Similar results have been acquired by research on the population having experienced the Balkans War. The impact of relatively recent economic and political transformations on the health and well-being of populations, especially from the former Eastern Europe brings also interesting results. The increase in stature have been accepted as the reflection of the overall beneficial effects of the economic growth. On the other hand, economic and political changes in post-communist countries have been associated with an increased incidence of chronic diseases and an increased prevalence of overweight and obesity. Both conditions were attributed to changes in lifestyle and diet. Some data also suggested a higher risk of metabolic dysregulation and an increased level of stress.
\n
The successful candidate should:
\n
\n
be a researcher who has received a PhD or its equivalent within the last 7 years
\n
be a researcher who has worked at least two whole years in the last three outside the territory of the Czech Republic in the field of research with a working time of at least 0.5 full-time equivalent, or who has been PhD student (or equivalent) abroad
\n
have a publishing record – in the last three years at least two publication outputs registered in the Thomson Reuters Web of Science, Scopus or ERIH PLUS databases and at the same time publications such as “articles”, “books”, “book chapters”, “letters” and “reviews”.
\n
\n
Specific criteria can be filled, i.e.:
\n
\n
have experience in field of biological anthropology and historical demography
\n
have experience with research projects (an advantage)
\n
have excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate in teams
\n
\n
The application should include:
\n
\n
a CV including a summary of education and research experience, publication activity, involvement in research grants, etc.
\n
a scanned copy of the PhD diploma or an official letter certifying submission of a doctoral thesis for thesis defence and the planned defence date
\n
a motivation letter
\n
at least two reference letters
\n
\n
MU offers the opportunity to get:
\n
\n
an interesting job in a dynamically-expanding university area
\n
diverse and challenging work in an excellent research environment
\n
tenure track with an initial appointment for 2 years
\n
a professional team and pleasant working conditions
\n
interaction with leading scientists in an inspiring, internationalised environment
\n
a welcoming service for the successful candidate and his/her family
\n
\n
Anticipated start date: The position is available from 1. It still embodies the republican and democratic spirit of the times in its commitment to remaining autonomous and giving students an important role in designing their own courses. Close to 200,000 students have now passed through its doors.

Based in Brno, Masaryk University has a staff of over 5,000 (more than 2,000 of them academics), which makes it the leading employer in South Moravia and the leading public university in the whole of Moravia as well as the second largest in the Czech Republic. One of the fastest-expanding universities in Europe, it is also able to be highly selective, since places to study there are the most sought after in the country. The total student body, scattered across over 200 different departments, institutes and clinics, is more than 40,000, over 7,000 of them from overseas.

A leading research institution, Masaryk University offers courses across the full spectrum of traditional and contemporary fields, but with a particular focus on science. In 2006, for example, it set up a pioneering university research station in the Antarctic to explore the parts of the terrain which are ice-free. Four years later, with the help of around 200 million Euros in financial support from the European Union, it completed the construction of a new campus at Bohunice, Further developments have seen the overall area it covers rise to 70,000 square metres. It is now home to a range of facilities, including the Central European Research Centre of Excellence, equipped with state-of-the-art laboratories in life science and advanced materials, and the Centre for Toxic Compounds in the Environment.
","logoImg":"","logoImgSquare":"https://s3.ap-northeast-2.amazonaws.com/jobs.ac.kr/dev/images/dsjlfkjxclkjv_409206260272.png","homepageUrl":"http://www.muni.cz/","infoUrl":"https://www.timeshighereducation.com/world-university-rankings/masaryk-university","country":"CZ","state":"Brno","location":"유럽","address":"Žerotínovo námestí 9 Rektorát, Brno-mesto, Brno, Czech Republic","phoneNumber":"+420 549 491 111","faxNumber":"","type":1,"univType1":"대학","univType2":"대학교","univType3":"","univType4":"본교","establishedAt":"1919-01-28T00:00:00.000Z","count_majors":null,"count_students":null,"meta_competitiveness":"","publishState":1,"updatedAt":"2020-03-18T05:33:59.000Z","createdAt":"2020-03-04T11:13:07.000Z","default_1_bannerImage":null,"default_1_bannerImageMobile":null,"default_2_bannerImage":null,"default_2_bannerImageMobile":null,"default_3_bannerImage":null,"default_3_bannerImageMobile":null}}
