{"job":{"jobId":1360070,"fk_accountId":null,"fk_organizationId":464,"fk_adminAccountId":null,"title":"International Internship Advisor","description":"\n\n<p><strong>Department</strong> Office of the Dean of College\n<strong>Category</strong> Student Affairs and Services\n<strong>Full-Time / Part-Time</strong> Full-Time</p>\n\n\n<p><strong>Overview</strong></p>\n\n\n<p>The International Internships Adviser will maintain and manage a robust portfolio of internships and advise students, and will be the lead adviser on a portfolio of regional programs for the International Internship Program (IIP) at Princeton. The adviser will review applications and advise students individually or in group on internship opportunities, personal goals, program selection, health and safety issues, inter-cultural competency, etc.; plan marketing, recruiting and coordinate IIP events including but not limited to arranging pre-departure briefings and monitoring student experiences during the summer, assisting students with post-internship presentations, and assessing student evaluations. The IIP adviser will serves as the primary liaison for international partners and employers for the assigned portfolio, and will be managing all programmatic communications with them.</p>\n\n\n<p>During the 2020-2021 advising and selection season, the adviser will also help facilitate and support remote internships as the IIP office introduces new options to support our students during the COVID-19 pandemic.</p>\n\n\n<p>The Office of International Programs (OIP) staff is currently working remotely, but the adviser position is not a remote work position. The successful candidate for this position will begin remotely and must have the technological infrastructure necessary to work online (e.g., reliable internet). When OIP/IIP returns to the office the adviser will be expected to work full-time in-person in the office.</p>\n\n\n<p>Please submit a cover letter along with your resume for full consideration. </p>\n\n\n<p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p>\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Serve as main point of contact and advisor for a portfolio of IIP applicants by region.</li>\n<li>Review IIP applications and manage placement of students to assigned regions.</li>\n<li>Conduct individual and group advising for students.</li>\n<li>Lead large-group information or pre-departure sessions for prospective participants and their guardian.</li>\n<li>Respond to student inquiries during, pre and post-application about internship, accommodation and other logistical inquiries; provide ongoing support and advising for interns while on program.</li>\n<li>Liaise with colleagues on-and-off campus as emergency contact for students (in assigned region) to handle crisis situations.</li>\n<li>Serve as primary liaison for IIP partners assigned by region.</li>\n<li>Work closely with Director, ensure new partners are vetted and on-boarded as per IIP policies.</li>\n<li>Manage all communications regarding IIP policies, program guidelines and materials.</li>\n<li>Responsible for reviewing and updating internship brochures in University systems (GPS) and collaborating with</li>\n<li>Communication Manager for website content edit and development as required.</li>\n<li>Receive and review feedback from IIP partners and report to Director as required.</li>\n<li>Work closely with Development to ensure that all donor communication and program goals are met.</li>\n<li>Manage the assessment and disbursement of student awards utilizing University systems (SAFE, CONCUR, GPS).</li>\n<li>Track and coordinate IIP award payments and ensure proper execution of student awards as well as reimbursements.</li>\n<li>Review IIP budget and financial statements with Director and Office Manager.</li>\n<li>Issue donor letters in collaboration with colleagues in Development.</li>\n<li>Assist with visa advising as needed; stay current with evolving immigration issues, policies, and regulation.</li>\n<li>Assist in the planning and implementation of program events, including pre-departure orientation, Information Sessions, webinars, welcome back reception, debrief, and poster sessions, and events with IIP sponsors/donors.</li>\n<li>Collaborate with OIP colleagues and other partners or campus to ensure successful execution of events for IIP.</li>\n<li>Supervise and manage student workers.</li>\n</ul>\n\n\n<p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p>\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelors degree; Masters in international education or related field preferred. </li>\n<li>4-6 years of experience.</li>\n<li>Demonstrated familiarity and best practices for managing and monitoring international programs. </li>\n<li>Demonstrated expertise advising students in higher education context.</li>\n<li>Familiarity with establishing duty of care, health and safety guidelines for international programs. </li>\n<li>Outstanding organization skills and superb attention to detail. </li>\n<li>Ability to work under pressure and to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, especially during peak times of the year.</li>\n<li>Keen problem-solving skills. </li>\n<li>Excellent technology skills: Proficiency with standard office software (advanced Excel).</li>\n</ul>\n\n\n<p><strong>Additional Qualifications </strong></p>\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Familiarity with passport/visa advising and visa application processes for both domestic and international students; experience with US Department of State resources and requirements for travelers.</li>\n<li>Excellent customer service and communications skills, both oral and written. Ability to effectively communicate in a variety of situations, including interpersonal and formal large-group settings.
