Formed in 2006, the first cohort of students graduated in August 2010. The University now has almost 15,000 students studying on campus. The language of instruction is English. XJTLU aims to become truly research-led, and has recently committed significant investment into research development and the expansion of PhD student numbers on campus.\n\nXJTLU is located in the Higher Education Town of Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP). Suzhou has been ranked the 74th most liveable city in the 2018 Global Liveability Index. Additionally, it is well-connected via nearby airports to cities such as Hong Kong, Seoul, Tokyo, and Taipei, and via high-speed rail to other major cities in China. Pei-designed Suzhou Museum attracting millions of tourists annually. SIP offers an excellent quality of life with high environmental standards. The nearby Jinji Lake provides attractive views, by day and by night, and there is a variety of shopping facilities, international and local restaurants, entertainment hubs and nightlife. Suzhou is also home to four international schools.\nUrban &amp; Environmental Studies University Research Centre (UES) aims to become an internationally significant research centre investigating development and urbanization at the local level in China by focusing on environmental, economic, social, demographic and health changes. Integrating the interdisciplinary and international research capacity and scientific platform at XJTLU, and studying China's experience of urban development and changes, UES explores paradigms for more smart, sustainable and high-quality development. It works closely with the public sector, consolidating support for research and overarching scientific benefits to society.\nRESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: \n1. Lead lab work according to the needs of the project’s investigation, including sampling team management and process control (QA&amp;QC).\n2. Responsible for data processing, test analysis and report writing, publish at least one academic paper related to the project every year.\n3. Responsible for purchasing, recording and making statistics to ensure the accuracy and authenticity of sampling and testing expenses.\n4. Put forward contingency strategies or emergency responses when problems occurs, such as sourcing and evaluating outsourcing company services.\n5. Assists in the operation of a safe working environment using good working practices in line with relevant legal requirements.\n6. Assists in the organization and supervision of specialist technical facilities and the equipment within them.\n7. Provide the necessary technical support on site, for example equipment maintenance. Help to solve the application problem if needed. Coordinate with application team regarding lab/plant trial.\n8. Report the work progress to the Project Leader and UES Director regularly.\n9. Undertake other duties commensurate with the grade as required by Project Leader.\nQUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE: \n1. Master degree or above, major in Analytical Chemistry or related functions\n2. Have relevant lab experience post the completion of the degree\n3. Fluent in speaking, listening and writing in English\n4. Strong sense of responsibility and result driven\n5. Good time management &amp; interpersonal skills\n6.
