Physiology and Pharmacology. The research group is interested in lineage specification of germ cells and its implication in germ cell tumors and epigenetic inheritance of disease. Our goal is to better understand the mechanism of how genetic and epigenetic network controlling fate decisions in the temporal and spatial manner with the state-of-the-art technologies.
\n\n\n
Please check our lab’s website for more information: www.thedenglab.org
\n\n\n
Duties\nThe group has established several key resources and techniques in the lab including mouse reporter lines, human ESC culture and differentiation, single-cell RNA and ATAC-sequencing and LCM-seq that enable us to perform lineage tracing and fate mapping in unprecedent resolution.
\n\n\n
We aim to address the following questions:\n(1) the role of niche environment for initial germ cell specification;\n(2) fail-safe mechanism of migration and origin for germ cell tumors;\n(3) transgenerational inheritance of disease by germ cells.
\n\n\n
The postdoctoral applicant is expected to lead the projects of DNA-barcoded lineage tracing and investigation of molecular mechanisms in epigenetic inheritance. The applicant will be also involved in experimental optimization for single-cell analysis of human tissue.
\n\n\n
Entry requirements\nWe are looking for a highly-motivated candidate with a PhD degree in developmental biology, stem cell biology, molecular biology or related area. We expect the candidate to have a strong scientific background with relevant expertise especially in single cell biology. Experience from work with mouse and human stem cells, animal models and Crispr/Cas genome editing are a strength. Good knowledge of both spoken and written English and a positive team player are highly appreciated.
\n\n\n
Scholarships for postdoctoral qualification can be established for foreign researchers who place their qualifications in Sweden. The purpose of scholarships for postdoctoral qualification is to promote internationalization and contribute to research qualification after a doctorate or equivalent.
\n\n\n
A scholarship for carrying out postdoctoral research can be granted for a maximum of two years within a four year period following the receipt of a doctoral degree or equivalent.
\n\n\n
To be eligible for a postdoctoral scholarship, the person must have obtained a doctorate or a foreign degree deemed to be equivalent to a doctorate. Applicants who have not completed a doctorate at the end of the application period may also apply, provided that all requirements for a completed degree are met before the (intended) start date of the post doctoral education.
\n\n\n
The head of the department determines whether their previous training and scholarly qualifications correspond to a Swedish doctorate or higher.
\n\n\n
Location: Biomedicum, Solna Campus
\n\n\n
Type of scholarship\nThe amount is tax free and it is set for twelve months at a time, paid out on a six months basis. In exceptional cases, shorter periods may be acceptable.
\n\n\n
Application process\nAn application must contain the following documents in English or Swedish:
\n\n\n
\n
A complete curriculum vitae, including date of the thesis defence, title of the thesis, previous academic positions, academic title, current position, academic distinctions, and committee work
\n
A complete list of publications
\n
A summary of current work (no more than one page)
\n
\n\n\n
The application is to be submitted on the Varbi recruitment system.
\n\n\n
Want to make a difference? The institution, which has around 6,000 students, is located close to the Karolinska University Hospital. The Karolinska Institute’s research spans the whole field of medicine, from basic experimental research to patient-oriented and nursing research. The institution is the single largest conductor of academic medical research in Sweden.

The Karolinska Institute was founded by King Karl XIII in 1810 as an academy for the training of surgeons, after one in three soldiers wounded in a war against Russia died in field hospitals. In 1861, the institution was granted the right to confer degrees and gained a status equal to that of a university. In 1895, Alfred Nobel's will bequeathed the Karolinska Institute the right to select the winner of the Nobel Prize in physiology or medicine.

Since then, five Karolinska Institute researchers have won a Nobel Prize in that category. In 1997, the institution was granted full university status. The institution has two campuses: KI Campus Solna and KI Campus Huddinge, located in the northwest and south of Stockholm respectively. Both campuses are a 10-15 minute walk or train ride from the centre of the city. As well as bachelor’s and master degrees, the Karolinska Institute also offers doctoral degrees. To gain a PhD, students must develop an advanced general knowledge of medical science and scientific methodology, as well as cutting edge scientific skills in the research field they choose to explore in their thesis.
","logoImg":"","logoImgSquare":"https://s3.ap-northeast-2.amazonaws.com/jobs.ac.kr/dev/images/asjkheas_301350749238.png","homepageUrl":"https://ki.se/","infoUrl":"https://www.timeshighereducation.com/world-university-rankings/karolinska-institute","country":"SE","state":"Stockholm","location":"유럽","address":"SE-171 77, Stockholm, Sweden","phoneNumber":"+46 8 524 800 00","faxNumber":"","type":1,"univType1":"대학","univType2":"대학교","univType3":"","univType4":"본교","establishedAt":"1810-01-01T00:00:00.000Z","count_majors":null,"count_students":null,"meta_competitiveness":"","publishState":1,"updatedAt":"2020-04-01T17:42:06.000Z","createdAt":"2020-03-04T20:13:07.000Z","default_1_bannerImage":null,"default_1_bannerImageMobile":null,"default_2_bannerImage":null,"default_2_bannerImageMobile":null,"default_3_bannerImage":null,"default_3_bannerImageMobile":null}}
