The Faculty of Health and Life Sciences comprises of four specialist schools – Leicester School of Allied Health Sciences, Applied Social Sciences, The School of Nursing, Midwifery and Paramedicine, and Leicester School of Pharmacy. A unique feature of the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences is that we are a Faculty who educates and develops future professionals who make a significant difference to people’s lives, health, wellbeing, communities and society. Working alongside Professional, Statutory and Regulatory Bodies; or educative approach reflects the latest research and evidence-based developments in the sector and many of our courses have professional accreditation. The dedicated facilities are designed to replicate current practice and feature industry-standard equipment, enabling staff and students to undertake life changing projects to improve health and social care.\n\n\nRole\n\n\nThe Associate Professor Quality (AP Q) is a key leadership role within the university’s academic community, making a positive, significant and strategic contribution. The Associate Professor Quality will work closely with the Deputy Dean and Associate Dean (Academic), and will engage with key stakeholders to progress programme validation, re-validation, modifications and professional accreditation events. DMU is undergoing a significant transformational change project called Education 2030, whereby we are re-designing all programmes of study to better support student experience and student success, so the Associate Professor Quality will be integral in guiding the Faculty through this change. They will provide strategic vision for programme developments, approvals and innovations in teaching and learning in line with the Faculty Strategic plan.\n\n\nIdeal Candidate\n\n\nTo be successful for the Associate Processor Quality role, you will be both a highly accomplished educator with proven expertise in the delivery of learning and development or programmes of study and have the respect of the academic community. Experience of Apprenticeships/OFSTED compliance would be advantageous, as the Faculty continues to develop and grow provision within this area. They will be comfortable and proactive in providing colleagues with relevant support, advice and guidance for their academic roles.
