Jindal Global University (JGU) is hiring faculty members for Fall 2022 semester.</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">Eligible candidates who are willing to take up teaching & research assignments are invited to apply.</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\"><b>Roles and responsibilities:</b></p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">Faculty members joining the School in 2022 - 2023 will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses from the Fall Semester 2022, mentor students and engage in other activities on behalf of the School and the university. Faculty shall oversee JSLL internship programmes, foster collaboration in research and instruction, enhance the reputation of the university and help contribute to the advance of their profession at global and local levels. <i>Appointees at level of Associate Professor or Professor</i> are expected to be professionally visible scholars and/or practitioners with commensurate experience in institutional administration and with demonstrated academic leadership (e.g., journal editorships, engagement with professional associations).</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">Applicants should have completed significant research projects in one or more areas of language and literature studies (and/or translation, linguistics) and their work should have been communicated to an academic/ professional community in the form of publications, conference presentations, media reports or other appropriate mode of professional communication. Applicants are expected to have an agenda of future research and to be able to ‘teach through research’ and train researchers (including undergraduates). Successful applicants will have demonstrated excellence in teaching and possess communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with a diverse body of students and colleagues.</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\"><b>Qualifications and professional experience:</b></p>\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>For appointment as <i><u>Professor</u></i>, an earned doctorate at time of application is required. The doctoral degree could be in a field relating to Hispanic studies, including but not limited to the following: Spanish or Romance language/literature studies; Iberian or Latin American studies; comparative literature (with Spanish as one element); creative writing; translation studies (with Spanish as source or target language); linguistics; journalism/communication studies/media studies; film studies; drama studies; performing arts. An earned doctorate is also normally required for appointment at the level of <i><u>Associate Professor</u></i>.</li>\n<li>Candidates with degrees in education/education studies shall be considered, provided the focus of their training and/or research has been Spanish language learning and pedagogy.</li>\n<li>For appointment as <i><u>Assistant Professor</u></i>, the ideal candidate should possess a Ph.D degree / Master’s degree with relevant teaching experience at time of application.</li>\n<li>Applicants who are not native speakers of Spanish (or who have not acquired at least one of their post-secondary degrees from a Spanish-language education institution) are expected to show CEFR / CEFRL certification in <b>Spanish</b> as C2.</li>\n<li>All applicants who do not have a Master’s degree or doctorate from an officially English-medium education institution are expected to have CEFR / CEFRL rating in English of at least B2 (or correspondingly high score in TOEFL or equivalent internationally recognized test of English). Please note that the general medium of instruction of JGU is English. All applicants are required to have taught undergraduate students in Spanish language/literature/cultural studies; additional post-graduate teaching experience is preferred for appointment at level of Professor/Associate Professor. Applicants who have taught in a recognized language learning institute (governmental or private) may be considered, but preference will be for those who have taught for several years in an accredited college or university.</li>\n<li>Research published in professional peer-reviewed journal(s) and/or as monographs.
