This exciting new post will contribute to the excellent research profile of the Department while also engaging in teaching, leadership and pastoral support across our expanding portfolio of both in-person and online courses. This includes the BA Culture, Media & Creative Industries and three postgraduate programmes: Cultural & Creative Industries MA; Arts & Cultural Management MA, and Global Media Industries MA. At Senior Lecturer level the post-holder will also provide academic leadership in key areas of education, programme development and assessment.</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">We seek applicants who can contribute to our goals of delivering innovative, inclusive, and socially-engaged education, and the ongoing diversification of our curriculum. Whilst building on existing research and teaching strengths, the new post will provide an exciting new point of reference for the Department’s focus on cultural policy and management. In particular, this will build on CMCI’s commitment to understanding and supporting cultural policy from an international and global perspective. You will have a strong track-record of research that speaks to this thematic area in an engaging and distinctive way.</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">Indicatively, the post-holder will lead on Cultural Policy & Governance (Level 5), also contributing on team-taught modules, such as Communicating and Writing about Culture, Creative Citizenship (Level 6), Cultural Policy, Analysing the Cultural and Creative Industries, Arts and Management, and Research Approaches and Dissertation (Level 7). At Senior Lecturer level we would also expect the post-holder to lead on plans to develop a hub for the study of international cultural policy, offering opportunities for comparative analysis and development. This will leverage the Department’s existing research strengths in the area, including in relation to creative diversity, inclusive and sustainable creative economies, and links with cultural policy makers in the UK, Europe, US, Central and South America, Africa and Asia.</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">The successful candidate will hold a PhD in Culture, Media & Creative Industries or a closely related discipline, with an excellent knowledge and understanding of a field of expertise relating to cultural policy and management. They will be a highly effective educator, with experience of both face-to-face and online teaching and assessment in Higher Education, a commitment to student learning and welfare, and an aptitude for working within an interdisciplinary framework. We expect the post-holder to play a prominent role in supporting the Department’s further widening participation initiatives across all levels, including our Postgraduate Research students.</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">We encourage applications from members of groups with protected characteristics that have been marginalised on any grounds enumerated under the Equality Act. Due to commence in July 2022.</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">Key responsibilities</p>\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Develop and deliver outstanding teaching in both face-to-face and online modes for BA and MA optional and compulsory modules, designing and delivering new online modules for virtual courses, where required</li>\n<li>Conduct excellent research including publishing peer reviewed articles in high impact journals and/or books and research monographs, generating grant income, public engagement, and building recognisable research expertise and esteem</li>\n<li>Provide high quality supervisory guidance for BA and MA level dissertations, as well as high quality supervision to PhD students</li>\n<li>Assess coursework and examinations as required</li>\n<li>Contribute to the welfare of students through the personal tutor system</li>\n<li>Fulfil administrative tasks as directed by the Head of Department</li>\n<li><strong>[<em>Senior Lecturer level]</em></strong> Provide academic leadership in key areas of education, programme development and assessment, and research</li>\n</ul>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\"><em>The above list of responsibilities may not be exhaustive, and the post holder will be required to undertake such tasks and responsibilities as may reasonably be expected within the scope and grading of the post.</em></p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">Skills, knowledge, and experience</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\"><strong>Essential criteria </strong></p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">1. PhD awarded in Culture, Media & Creative Industries or a relevant interdisciplinary field</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">2. Excellent knowledge and understanding of a relevant field of expertise relating to cultural policy and management</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">3. Clearly defined research interests and plans compatible with the research strategies of the Department, Faculty and College</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">4. Highly effective administrative and organisational skills, underpinned by excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">5. Experience of teaching relevant subjects at both undergraduate and postgraduate level, with evidence of developing and delivering innovative and effective face-to-face and online teaching, and ability to engage and inspire students of diverse and international backgrounds</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">6. Commitment to student learning and welfare, including providing academic advice, assessment feedback, and pastoral support (e.g. as personal tutor)</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">7.
