This fixed-term 1 year Academic Education Pathway (AEP) post will contribute to teaching, engagement, and pastoral support across our BA Culture, Media & Creative Industries and three postgraduate programmes: Arts & Cultural Management MA; Cultural & Creative Industries MA and Global Media Industries MA.</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">We seek applicants who can contribute to our goals of delivering innovative, inclusive, and socially-engaged education, and the ongoing diversification of our curriculum. In particular, we are looking for candidates who can demonstrate <em>both</em> practitioner experience <em>and</em> academic teaching, scholarship and enquiry, enabling students to bridge theory and practice. The successful post-holder will be adept at providing teaching and support that promotes critical thinking. They will also play a central role in expanding our portfolio of applied ‘employment-ready’ arts and cultural management and leadership skills and knowledge development opportunities (e.g. relating to arts and cultural marketing, budgeting, operations, strategy and leadership).</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">The post-holder will work closely with colleagues, complementing existing strengths in the department, and developing new links with a range of internal and external stakeholders, facilitating educational innovation. Indicatively, the Lecturer will lead on the new Level 6 module Managing Arts and Culture, and convene Arts & Management (Level 7), also contributing to team-taught modules, such as Culture & Identity (Level 4), Events and Festivals (Level 6), Culture Management: The Experience (Level 7) and other Level 6 modules.</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">The successful candidate will either hold a PhD in Culture, Media & Creative Industries or a closely related discipline (or be very near to completion i.e. submitted but awaiting viva/defence), or they will have equivalent experience in a relevant professional or industry context. In either case, they will be able to demonstrate an excellent knowledge and understanding of a field of expertise relating to arts and cultural management. This post does not require independent research and the delivery of research outputs. However, the Department will support scholarship fitting to the Academic Education Pathway role which prioritises research on pedagogic areas.</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">The post-holder will be a highly effective educator, with experience of in person and online teaching and assessment in Higher Education (preferably in the UK), a commitment to student learning and welfare, and an aptitude for working within an interdisciplinary framework.</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">We encourage applications from members of groups with protected characteristics that have been marginalised on any grounds enumerated under the Equality Act. Due to commence in July 2022.</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">Key responsibilities</p>\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Deliver outstanding in person and online teaching for BA and MA modules in the department </li>\n<li>Play a role in planning, organising, designing and delivering ‘employment ready’ arts and cultural management teaching and assessment across our Programmes, bridging theory and practice </li>\n<li>Provide high quality supervisory guidance for BA and MA level dissertations</li>\n<li>Assess coursework and examinations as required</li>\n<li>Fulfil administrative tasks as directed by the Head of Department</li>\n<li>Contribute to the welfare of students through the personal tutor system </li>\n<li>Enable and expand students’ opportunities for engagement with community and professional practitioners, arts and cultural organisations, and personal and career development</li>\n</ul>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\"><em>The above list of responsibilities may not be exhaustive, and the post holder will be required to undertake such tasks and responsibilities as may reasonably be expected within the scope and grading of the post. </em></p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">Skills, knowledge, and experience</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\"><strong>Essential criteria</strong> </p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">1. Excellent track-record of working in the field of arts and cultural management and leadership, requiring applied knowledge and skills of key management areas (e.g. marketing, budgeting, operations, strategy and leadership) </p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">2. Excellent academic knowledge, understanding and experience of a relevant field of expertise relating to arts and cultural management </p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">3. PhD awarded or very near to completion in Culture, Media & Creative Industries or a relevant interdisciplinary field, OR equivalent experience in a relevant professional or industry context </p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">4. Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentational skills </p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">5. Experience of (in person and online) teaching relevant subjects at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, with evidence of innovative and effective teaching and ability to engage and inspire students of diverse and international backgrounds </p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">6. Commitment to student learning and welfare, including providing academic advice, assessment feedback, and pastoral support (e.g. as personal tutor) </p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">7. Demonstrable networking skills, facilitating partnerships, and bridging arts and cultural, professional and academic communities of practice </p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\"><strong>Desirable criteria</strong></p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">1.
