{"job":{"jobId":2423515,"fk_accountId":null,"fk_organizationId":494,"fk_adminAccountId":null,"title":"Pre-sessional EAP Tutor","description":"\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">Job description</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">This is an exciting opportunity for experienced EFL and EAP tutors to join King’s Foundations to teach on our Pre-sessional programmes in summer 2022. </p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\"> </p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">This year our 11- and 6-week programmes will be taught on campus. There will also be a ‘combined’ option for 11-week students, in which they study remotely for the first four weeks before travelling to London to complete their course. All programmes follow the same approach with students attending classes, seminars and tutorials supplemented by online content. </p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\"> </p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">You will work alongside our friendly permanent tutors, and you will find all our students to be highly motivated and keen to develop their English language and academic skills with you. For tutors new to EAP, training and support will be provided through our buddy scheme and on-course induction and CPD programme. </p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\"> </p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">The role holder will be expected to complete teaching, assessment & feedback, administration and pastoral duties to a high standard to ensure that the students on the programme receive the best possible student experience and progress onto their degree programmes able to fulfil their potential. </p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">Salary will be dependent on qualifications and experience. We offer 12- and 7- week full-time contracts, with all contracts including a paid induction week. </p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\"> </p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">Successful candidates must be UK based and available to be on campus in central London for the duration of their contract. Please make sure you are available for the entire period.</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\"> </p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">Key responsibilities </p>\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>To deliver innovative teaching using communicative pedagogic approaches, as per requirements of the timetable and in line with face-to-face and combined pre-sessional course norms. </li>\n<li>To provide a high-quality student experience, including through the provision of timely, actionable feedback and advice. </li>\n<li>To take responsibility for managing all aspects of teaching, assessment, administration and tutorials to the required standard.</li>\n<li>To act as personal tutor to a group of students, the vast majority of whom will be postgraduates and from East Asia, for pastoral and academic support. NB. Personal tutors will have additional safeguarding duties for students who are under 18 – support will be given for this. </li>\n<li>To communicate with other EAP tutors, the pre-sessional coordination team and professional services staff in a professional, collaborative, collegiate manner to ensure the effective delivery of the pre-sessional programme(s). </li>\n<li>To engage fully with internal and external quality assurance processes. </li>\n<li>To strive for and promote excellence in teaching and learning as an individual and as a member of teaching teams. </li>\n<li>To undertake any other reasonable duties that may be requested by the Head of Pre-sessional & Short Courses or Pre-sessional Team. </li>\n</ul>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\"><em>The above list of responsibilities may not be exhaustive, and the post holder will be required to undertake such tasks and responsibilities as may reasonably be expected within the scope and grading of the post.</em></p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">Skills, knowledge and experience</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\"><strong>Essential criteria</strong></p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">1. Undergraduate degree or equivalent </p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">2. TEFL-I status according to British Council accreditation guidelines. Experience of planning and delivering successful face-to-face English language and skills lessons. </p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">4.
