This post is available from April 1, 2022, as part of a maternity cover. Employment in a part-time role is also possible.</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">The Department of Computer Science has been running the Computer Science BSc programme successfully for many years and our Information Security MSc and Data Science MSc programmes see growing student numbers. The Department continues to invest in its facilities, e.g., a 200-seater teaching laboratory, a virtual cloud computing platform, a secure systems facility and an HPC cluster for research. The Department is home to Surrey Centre for Cyber Security (SCCS) which is only one of four in the UK holding recognition as an Academic Centre of Excellence in Cyber Security Research and Education by the UK government. SCCS has world-leading research expertise in fundamentals and technologies around cyber security, cryptography, and formal verification. The Distributed and Networked Systems group is internationally recognised for its fundamental and applied research in distributed systems, edge/cloud computing, web applications and social networks. The Nature Inspired Computing and Engineering group holds world-leading expertise in fundamentals and applications of machine learning. The University of Surrey has been leading the rankings for employability training in the UK for several consecutive years. The Department is particularly proud of employability of our graduates.</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">The appointed candidate will be expected to contribute to the provision of employability activities in the Department in alignment with the role of the Director of Employability and to engage in the supervision of final year student projects. Participation in other teaching activities such as delivery of labs and marking of assignments along with support of our student engagement and satisfaction action plan also form part of this role.</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">The post holder will hold a university degree (MSc/PhD) in Computer Science or a related discipline. Teaching experience in basic Computer Science topics (e.g. software engineering) is desirable.
