The School is searching for faculty members that work in any aspect of project, program, and portfolio organising, candidates whose work draws novel insights into the field of project management and project studies, and candidates taking an interdisciplinary approach to projects. Our work spans established areas that use projects, e.g. for organizational change, software, engineering, and infrastructure delivery, and emerging project-based industries. All positions are full-time, continuing (tenure-track) roles based in Sydney.</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">In this role you will be asked to design and deliver world-leading teaching and research into project, program and/or portfolio management. Preference will be given to people that have or are developing a track record of excellence in research within the project studies or project management area, and have a proven ability to bring this expertise into the classroom.</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\"><strong>Areas of particular interest include, but are not limited to:</strong></p>\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Emerging and changing project-based industries: e.g., projects in new energy industries; project-based interfaces with manufacturing industries; project analytics;</li>\n<li>Projects and resource use: e.g., how projects are adopting net-zero and sustainable development goals, and are implicated in and addressing climate change;</li>\n<li>Project leadership and management: e.g., managing and inspiring project teams, technical leadership, project sponsorship, commercial decision-making, change management, project models and how project set-up affects outcomes; and</li>\n<li>Projects in context: e.g., early stage decision making about which projects to build, new understandings of the value of projects and their benefits and projects, programs and portfolios in a wider societal context.</li>\n</ul>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">Those working in a closely related research field that can clearly demonstrate their knowledge of the research literature on project, program and/or portfolio management will also be considered. A history of project research that is transferrable between industry sectors is desirable.</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">The School of Project Management includes education programs ranging from short courses through to corporate executive education as well as undergraduate and masters coursework programs. Demonstrated ability to deliver executive education will be advantageous. The teaching program builds the capacity of graduates to examine the key interdependencies inherent in managing and leading complex projects. The program engages with these dynamics to develop skills for effective planning, management and leadership, and is accredited by the Global Accreditation Center of the Project Management Institute. It is a cross-sectoral, multi-disciplinary institute that draws together leading researchers across the University and works with leading industry, government, and policy to develop new insight into how we conceive, set-up, delivery and gain value from projects, and runs an annual <a data-mz=\"\" href=\"https://project-leadership-eng.sydney.edu.au/2022-november-symposium/\" rel=\"no-follow\" target=\"_blank\">International Symposium on Project Leadership in a Changing World</a>. Research through the Institute on project leadership covers project sponsorship, project governance, project management and related topics, including: Project models and digital transformation; Organizational dynamics of projects; and Projects for sustainable and resilient futures.
