In 2015, Newcastle Business School won the prestigious Times Higher Education “Business School of the Year” award. \n\n\nWorking within the Department of Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Strategy, you will join a team of highly qualified academics with a passion for enhancing the student experience. As a senior Academic colleague, you will assist the Faculty Pro Vice-Chancellor to maintain, enhance and improve the University’s national and international reputation in your academic field. You must demonstrate continuing academic attainment and achievement and provide academic leadership (of your subject and associated colleagues), through active contribution to your discipline and to the life and work of the Faculty and the wider University. This will include contributing to significant change within practice, the discipline, profession and/or community at regional, national and international level.\n\n\nAppointment to either post requires evidence of outstanding achievement and ability, as appropriate, in teaching and research.\n\n\nAppointment to Professor requires:\n\n\nExternally recognised sustained research outputs of a quality that is internationally excellent in terms of originality, significance and rigour coupled with an excellent record of teaching; and appropriate evidence of business engagement, knowledge transfer and leadership and management; and an established grant profile.\n\n\nor\n\n\nEvidence of exceptional innovative and creative contributions to teaching which are recognised internationally as excellent in terms of enhancing quality and learning, coupled with a strong record of research and scholarship; and appropriate evidence of business engagement, knowledge transfer and leadership and management; and an established grant profile.\n\n\nAppointment to Associate Professor requires:\n\n\nEvidence of a growing record of quality research outputs which are nationally (emerging internationally) excellent in terms of originality, significance and rigour coupled with a good record of teaching; and appropriate evidence of business engagement, knowledge transfer and leadership and management; and an emerging grant profile.\n\n\nor\n\n\nEvidence of innovative and creative contributions to teaching which are recognised nationally (emerging internationally) as excellent in terms of enhancing quality and learning, coupled with a good record of research and scholarship; and appropriate evidence of business engagement, knowledge transfer and leadership and management; and an emerging grant profile.\n\n\nYou should also demonstrate academic leadership experience and strong standing with external bodies and networks in your field.
