The role will encompass a broad range of administrative support for quality assurance functions in respect of the initial approval, ongoing management and periodic review of the University’s academic provision. The role will also provide support for the University’s external examining arrangements.</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">The role will be based in the Quality Assurance and Enhancement team, which is responsible for ensuring that the academic standards of the University’s awards are set and maintained appropriately and that students are provided with a high quality learning experience in accordance with internal and external regulatory requirements.</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\"><strong>Main Duties</strong></p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">The role of Quality Assurance Administrator covers a wide range of quality assurance and enhancement activities including:</p>\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Support for the management and co-ordination of:</li>\n<li>course development and approval events</li>\n<li>curriculum modifications</li>\n<li>routine monitoring and periodic review events</li>\n<li>initial accreditation and re-accreditation of courses</li>\n</ul>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">Faculties’ external examining arrangements</p>\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Day-to-day management of the faculty’s definitive curriculum documentation </li>\n</ul>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\"><strong>Skills and Experience</strong></p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">An important aspect of the role is the ability to work collaboratively with the Quality Assurance Officers whom you will work very closely with to undertake the various quality assurance activities described above. </p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">You will also need the ability to form good working relationships with colleagues in Schools, Faculties and other professional services departments. You will be confident in providing advice and deal with queries in a timely manner.</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\"><strong>The person</strong></p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">You will be educated to first degree level or a combination of professional qualifications, skills and experience at an equivalent level is desirable.</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\"> You will have experience in a similar senior administrative role and of working successfully as part of a team. You will experience of providing high quality customer service in a similarly complex environment.</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">You will have excellent attention to detail, with experience of managing complex records and ensuring their accuracy. </p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">You will be expected to demonstrate excellent communication and team working skills as the role involves working closely with the wider team.</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">You will be expected to manage a wide range of tasks and so you should be able to organise your time efficiently and prioritise where necessary.</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">You will need well developed ICT skills and be a proficient user of the full suite of Microsoft Office software.</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\"><strong>In return we offer a generous pension and annual leave provision. We cover a broad range of quality assurance functions including course approval and re-approval, modifications to courses, ongoing monitoring and periodic review of each School/Institute's academic provision. This involves the provision of advice and guidance on matters of quality assurance policy and regulation, as well as coordinating faculty approval and periodic review events.</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">We also manage and oversee the University’s Academic Regulations and other policies and procedures that pertain to the setting and maintenance of academic standards. Both were incorporated into the university and still have a strong standing in the UK’s higher education landscape.</p><p> </p><p>There are 25,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students, half of whom are from the West Midlands, the majority of whom are from ethnic minorities.
