We are based in the heart of Birmingham at the prestigious Millennium Point and state of the art Steam House, part of our extensive city centre campus, where we deliver a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses as well as having a well-established portfolio of overseas delivery partners and a growing apprenticeship provision. We are a faculty with ambitious growth plans, it is an exciting time to join us! </p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">Directly managing a team of Course Administrators you will focus on motivating and leading your team to deliver a proactive and customer-focused course administration service. Working closely with colleagues in the School, Faculty and across the University, you will oversee the operational delivery of administrative support across our courses, this is for both undergraduate and postgraduate taught courses. You will be responsible for delivering an outstanding service that underpins the student journey from enrolment to graduation placing students at the heart of all that you do. You will drive development of effective systems and processes and will maintain accurate student records. The role the Team Leader plays is vital to ensuring that we achieve high staff and student satisfaction.</p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\"><strong>Main Responsibilities:</strong></p>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">Through effective leadership and management, the Team Leader will:</p>\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Lead and manage a team of Course Administrators to ensure delivery of an outstanding service to all stakeholders,</li>\n<li>Oversee and deliver Examination Boards,</li>\n<li>Support and clerk school level committees and meetings,</li>\n<li>Maintain student records system (SITS) and support development of staff in use of the system,</li>\n<li>Provide regulatory advice and support a wide range of queries,</li>\n<li>Drive continuous improvement and enhance service delivery,</li>\n<li>Meet regularly with key stakeholders to support school requirements,</li>\n<li>Oversee operational activities aligned to the annual academic calendar,</li>\n<li>Participate in university wide activities such as clearing and graduation,</li>\n<li>Support enrolment and re-enrolment activities for your students,</li>\n<li>To manage performance across your direct reports and deliver annual review cycle as well as regular one to one support for your team,</li>\n<li>To drive performance and process improvements across course administration ensuring standard operating procedures are in place and are followed,</li>\n<li>Working closely with the Head of Course Oversight to support quality assurance activities, ensure systems are up to date, processes are efficient and to assist with data requirements across the school.</li>\n<li>Support the school senior leadership team (Head of School and Heads of Department) with matters pertaining to area of responsibility including academic quality, student attendance, student query management and feedback.</li>\n</ul>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\"><strong>Key requirements of the role:</strong></p>\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Educated to degree level (or equivalent experience).</li>\n<li>Experience in a leadership role with an emphasis on people management is essential.</li>\n<li>Experience of working in a highly customer focussed role is essential.</li>\n<li>Essential to demonstrate experience of working effectively with and supporting senior stakeholders. </li>\n<li>A requirement of the role is to have experience working within a pressurised environment, being able to work successfully to set deadlines and contractual requirements. </li>\n<li>Possesses a high standard of IT competency including Microsoft office. </li>\n<li>Experience of using SITS is desirable.</li>\n<li>Demonstrate your ability to influence others, manage change effectively and have a solution focused approach to leadership.</li>\n<li>Must be a team player, demonstrate intellectual curiosity and be able to manage your own workload.</li>\n<li>Outstanding communication skills with the ability to persuade, influence and negotiate.</li>\n<li>Strong report writing and presentation skills</li>\n</ul>\n\n\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 20px; font-family: san-serif;\">With around 26,900 students from 100 countries, Birmingham City University is a large and diverse place to study.
